How Caring House is Protecting Against COVID-19

At Caring House, we are committed to maintaining a healthy environment for Duke Cancer Institute patients and their caregivers. Therefore, to keep our guests safe, we are implementing important operational changes to limit the risk of COVID-19 potentially entering our space.

This means that, effective immediately, all volunteer programs are suspended until further notice. This includes front desk volunteers, meal providers and all other guest program volunteers. In addition, no visitors are allowed at Caring House at this time. Caregivers are allowed, but no other visitors.

Please know that we’re doing everything possible to care for our guests and our environment, and we sincerely appreciate your cooperation in keeping our collective home virus-free.The best way to help our guests at this time is to Make a Gift or drop off items from our House Wish List

Anyone who develops symptoms of COVID-19 must alert Caring House Staff immediately, self-quarantine, and call the Duke Health COVID-19 Hotline: 919-385-0429 (8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday) or the North Carolina COVID-19 Hotline: 866-462-3821 (open 24 hours, seven days a week). Symptoms to note include having a fever, dry cough, and shortness of breath.
