Gala 2020: A Record-Breaking Evening

February ushered in anticipation for our annual Gala, our largest fundraiser of the year! On the evening of Saturday, February 8, 373 people gathered in support of Caring House. We celebrated our partnership with Duke Cancer Institute and honored Dr. John Kirkpatrick, Director of Radiation Oncology for the Duke Center for Brain and Spine Metastasis at Duke Cancer Institute.

The night was full of excitement! Maybe it was the incredible Duke win against UNC in overtime? Maybe it was the candle-lit ambiance of the elegant Washington Duke Inn? Perhaps it was both? Either way, we had a record-breaking year. We raised a net of over $160,000 and we could not have done it without YOU! 

Since 1992, Caring House has served over 16,000 guests and thanks to YOU our nightly rate is only $40. As Caring House strives to meet the growing demand of affordable lodging for patients receiving treatment at Duke Cancer Center, we are thrilled to have raised so much money that will go directly towards making a difference in the lives of our guests.
