#GivingRoomsDay – Will You Join Us?

Walk through the doors of Caring House and you’ll be greeted by cheerful volunteers at the front desk. You’ll hear the crackle of the fireplace on early mornings, and see the beautiful trees through our windows sparkle with fall colors. You may see guests gathered for a volunteer-provided meal in our dining room, or hear the sounds of music performances in the Great Room. With free weekly guest programs such as oncological massage and art therapy, we offer guests receiving treatment at Duke Cancer Institute more than peace of mind during their stay.

The smells of thanksgiving dinner will be here before we know it, but we are also excited to welcome the start of giving season. We’re officially 25 days away from Giving Tuesday, a global movement that inspires people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. The year’s end marks an important time for charitable giving for many nonprofit organizations around the world.

This year, our second annual #GivingRoomsDay campaign seeks to raise $1340 (or 30 nights worth of free rooms at Caring House) by Giving Tuesday on November 29th.

Why donate? Because cancer treatment is already hard enough without having to worry about housing. Caring House offers a home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers traveling from afar to Duke Cancer Institute. Our home not only provides affordable housing, but a healing environment and a supportive community as well.

A donation of $45 provides a night’s stay for a guest in need. Will you join us for this year’s #GivingRoomsDay?
